Knowledge of phase relations of mantle minerals is essential for understanding the structure, dynamics and evolution of the mantle. So, we have determined phase transitions of mantle minerals in the following various aspects.

Phase transitions related to seismic discontinuities
- Buoyancy of slabs and plumes enhanced by curved post-garnet phase boundary [Ishii et al., 2023]
- Depressed 660-km discontinuity caused by akimotoite-bridgmanite transition [Chanyshev et al., 2022]
- Sharp 660-km discontinuity controlled by extremely narrow binary post-spinel transition [Ishii et al., 2019]
- Complete agreement of the post-spinel transition with the 660-km seismic discontinuity [Ishii et al., 2018]
- Binary olivine-wadsleyite transition in (Mg,Fe)2SiO4 [Katsura et al., 2004]
- Post-spinel transition in Mg2SiO4 [Katsura et al., 2003]
